Aleksandr was born in a small Russian village
on the out skirts of the
Novgorod Tribunal of a human mother and a Faerie father. His mother
having died in childbirth, Aleksandr's father, a local Fey lord,
brought him to live amongst the Faerie in Arcadia.
At the age of 13, Aleksandr was sent to live among the mortals. His
father facilitated this by calling in a debt owed to him by a Hermetic
magus of the house Merinita. Aleksandr was apprenticed to Kuril, an
old, reclusive magus that lived alone in a shack within a forest
controlled by the fey. Aleksandr's apprenticeship was difficult,
for Kuril was none too happy to be put upon in such a manner. But the
nature of his debt to Aleksandr's father would make it more costly for
him should he reneg on the bargain.
At the end of his apprenticeship Aleksandr passed his gauntlet without
incident, much to the pleasure of his parens. Kuril wasted no time
getting back to his solitude and his studies. Aleksandr was left to
fend for himself. He did not have long to ponder his new situation.
Almost immediately upon the departure of Kuril, he received a letter
from Calixtus of Criamon. the letter invited him to participate in
founding a new covenant in the Alps. Not having anything holding him
here, he accepted. He looked forward to spending time among others
that were not as bitter as his parens.
